Cricket Leagues & Tournaments

Every major cup and league — live scores, fixtures and results in one place.

The Cricket Calendar, All Year Round

There is almost never a day without cricket somewhere in the world. Between ICC tournaments, bilateral international tours, franchise T20 leagues and first-class domestic competitions, the calendar runs twelve months a year across every format — Tests, ODIs and T20s.

This page groups the biggest competitions in one place. Pick a tournament below to see every match it has in play, every fixture on the way and every result already in the books. When a competition is between seasons, its page shows the most recent edition.

Major Tournaments

The ICC events are the sport's biggest stages — the 50-over World Cup every four years, the T20 World Cup every two, plus the Champions Trophy and the regional heavyweight Asia Cup. Alongside them sit the game's great bilateral contests: The Ashes, the World Test Championship and the tours that fill the international calendar.

T20 & Domestic Leagues

Franchise T20 cricket has become a year-round circuit of its own. The IPL anchors the calendar each spring, followed by Major League Cricket in the USA, The Hundredand the Blast in the English summer, the CPL in the Caribbean, then the Big Bash, SA20, ILT20, BPL, PSLand LPL through the winter. Beneath the franchise circuit, first-class competitions like the County Championship, Sheffield Shield and Ranji Trophy keep the longest format thriving.

The Three Formats Explained

Test Cricket

The oldest and longest format — up to five days, two innings per side. Home of the Ashes, the World Test Championship and first-class competitions like the County Championship and Sheffield Shield. Rewards patience, technique and endurance like nothing else in sport.

One-Day (ODI)

Fifty overs per side in a single day — the format of the Cricket World Cup, Champions Trophy and Asia Cup (some editions). Balances attacking batting with long spells of bowling strategy.

T20

Twenty overs per side — roughly three hours of non-stop action. The engine of franchise cricket: IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL and every league built for prime-time entertainment and packed stadiums.

How the Season Works

January–March. The southern summer peaks — Big Bash and SA20 finals, Test series in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, and the ILT20 in the UAE.

March–May. The IPL dominates for two months, while PSL and BPL seasons overlap around it. International sides squeeze in short tours between franchise windows.

June–September. The English summer — County Championship, The Hundred and the Blast — plus Caribbean cricket with the CPL, and Major League Cricket in the USA. This is also peak season for ICC white-ball events.

October–December. The international season rebuilds — tours of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the LPL, and the build-up to the southern-hemisphere summer and its marquee Test series.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which cricket leagues does CricZones cover?

We cover every major competition — ICC tournaments like the World Cup, T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy, famous bilateral series like The Ashes, and franchise T20 leagues including the IPL, Big Bash, PSL, CPL, The Hundred, SA20, ILT20, BPL, LPL and Major League Cricket.

What is the difference between a series and a league?

A series is a set of matches between two international teams — for example Australia’s tour of South Africa. A league or tournament involves many teams playing for a single trophy, like the IPL or the World Cup. Both get their own pages here with fixtures, live scores and results.

When does the IPL season run?

The Indian Premier League typically runs from late March to late May each year, with around 70 matches across the group stage and playoffs. All fixtures and live scores appear on the IPL page as soon as the schedule is announced.

How often are The Ashes played?

The Ashes — Test cricket’s oldest rivalry between England and Australia — is played roughly every two years, alternating between the two countries. Each series is five Test matches.

Which league is the biggest in the world?

The Indian Premier League is the most-watched and richest cricket league in the world, attracting the game’s biggest international stars every season. Among international tournaments, the ICC Cricket World Cup draws the largest global audiences.

Are women’s leagues covered too?

Yes. Women’s international series, ICC events and franchise competitions appear in the feed whenever matches are scheduled.

What is the World Test Championship?

The WTC is a two-year league where the top Test nations earn points from their bilateral series. The top two teams meet in a one-off final to crown the world Test champions.

Why do some leagues not show any matches?

A league page only lists matches when that competition is in season or has fixtures scheduled. Between seasons the page stays live with its history and context — new fixtures appear automatically once announced.
